Listening to...

LCD Soundsystem, "Losing My Edge." This crashes right through the wall that ordinarily separates novelty kitsch from self-reflexive confessional. Check out the lyrics. It's post-post-modern, and so anti-un-non-quasi-ironic it hurts. Plus, it's got a good beat and you could probably dance to it, unless you think that'd be a total poseur move.

No, I said there are no good movies with gerunds as the first word of the title. OK, there are a few: "Raising Arizona," "Bringing Up Baby," "Finding Nemo."
