The first half of this movie could've been called Cultural Learnings for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Ukraine. But really, you can't go wrong with a wacky Eastern European breakdancing hip hop kid, and it was nice to see the Odessa Steps in a movie again.
Liev Schreiber has not really carved out much of a career for himself as an actor, despite some evident talent, but he showed a nice touch in directing this. There were some very impressive visuals that made use of the natural settings of the Ukraine. The first shots of the house in the field of sunflowers were absolutely stunning.
