Electronic Surveillance...

in Colonial America:

Abu Gonzales says Washington authorized it, and who better to carry it out than Ben Franklin? Gotta love this administration's healthy respect for, and deep knowledge of, all things sciencey:
...George Deutsch, a presidential appointee in NASA headquarters, told a Web designer working for the agency to add the word "theory" after every mention of the Big Bang, according to an e-mail message from Mr. Deutsch that another NASA employee forwarded to The Times.
Gonzales is a lawyer, not a doctor, but he provided a blanket medical diagnosis for Al Qaeda: they've all got Alzheimer's:
BIDEN: ...General, how has this revelation damaged the program? I'm almost confused by it but, I mean, it seems to presuppose that these very sophisticated Al Qaida folks didn't think we were intercepting their phone calls. I mean, I'm a little confused. How did it damage this?

GONZALES: Well, Senator, I would first refer to the experts in the Intel Committee who are making that statement, first of all. I'm just the lawyer. And so, when the director of the CIA says this should really damage our intel capabilities, I would defer to that statement. I think, based on my experience, it is true -- you would assume that the enemy is presuming that we are engaged in some kind of surveillance. But if they're not reminded about it all the time in the newspapers and in stories, they sometimes forget.

What do you expect from a bunch of overgrown frat boys?
Hoover: Don't screw around, they're serious this time!
Otter: Take it easy, I'm pre-law.
Boon: I thought you were pre-med.
Otter: What's the difference?

Mr. Plank:

Does it ever amaze you that people in the current administration use the word "intelligence" so much?

One other thing: Dick and Bush in office and America is getting screwed more than she's ever been. Irony?
