In Harrisburg, not far from where I work, a group called Pennsylvania Department of American Gold Star Mothers
has begun hanging banners in honor of Pennsylvania soldiers who have been killed in the Global War on Terror (sic). Each banner includes a big picture of a soldier, along with his hometown and where and when he was killed. There is a whole block of banners that end with "Baghdad, Iraq."
The Cunning Realist has
been arguing that opponents of the Great and Glorious Iraqi Adventure should stop calling it a war and start calling it an occupation. I think he's right. So, from now on, I'm changing my post footer from
Stop The War to
Stop The Occupation.
Stop The Occupation.
